Wizard of Oz Costumes?
My friends and I are going as characters from the Wizard of Oz. I'm Dorothy, and three of my friends are going to be the Scarecrow, The Cowardly Lion, and the Tin Man. We're all middle school girls. I'm going to buy my costume, but mostly the others are played by men in the movie so if we buy those costumes they're either very revealing or a guy costume.
Firstly, have you have any links to costumes(for the Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, and the Scarecrow) that are for teen GIRLS and aren't revealing so much!!
And secondly, what are some tips that you have for all of the costumes? As in how should we do our hair, makeup, and just any tips for the costumes!! The answer with the most tips and is most details gets the ten points!! Alright, thank you!!
**have you any
haha sorry

scare crow is the easiest. all you need is faded old jeans with fake patches and yellow yarn “straw” around the leg openings. Flannel long sleeved shirt, old and faded with fake patches and yellow yarn “straw”around neck and sleeve opening. floppy hat with yarn straw and matching makeup. Since your friends will be playing male characters, it is appropriate that they wear male costumes. No way would a lion costume be revealing!! Fur from head to foot with paws and a huge furry mane?? What would be revealed is the face, with appropriate makeup, muzzle, whiskers, etc.
Tin man could be hard. You would need silver tights and shoes and a silver shirt to wear underneath. The robotic parts could be cardboard painted with silver spray paint. Oatmeal boxes would make great arm covers and all you need is a cheap funnel for the hat, painted silver of course. The face makeup could be done with silver eyeshadow all over and the eyes and nose and mouth accented with lip stick and other darker shadow.
Homemade costumes are great. You girls should start looking around in thrift stores for supplies. A fuzzy old bathrobe or fur coat could help with Lions suit, as would the older jeans and shirt for scarecrow. You might even find some silver things for tin man. Good luck and have fun
